Why even search for "significant"?  Your claim seemed to be
that physicists in general used "infinite" to mean "finite, but
very large".  If this is the case, then the rank and file
are the ones to ask.  A single "significant" physicist who
uses unorthodox terminology does prove your point.

Now if you were to ask a physicist if the Universe was
infinite or not, what would they say?

Or if you asked about the infinities that renormalization
deals with, what would they say?
