  Our 88 acted like that, I too changed the CPS, no joy, it was the wire &lt;br&gt; mesh strap from the rear of the engine up to the firewall. Mine &lt;br&gt; crumbled when I grabbed it. &lt;br&gt; That is the main body ground and is a pretty common failure on old &lt;br&gt; beasts or rust belt any year ones. It can still steal some ground &lt;br&gt; but....

  New to JEEPS&amp;quot; &lt;br&gt; Just bought it, drove it home 50 kilometers and now sorting out how it works &lt;br&gt; and what needs fixing. &lt;br&gt; Highway cruising, every 10 k or so the &#39;89 XJ 4L Automatic Cherokee Limited &lt;br&gt; experiences a momentary power or &lt;br&gt; driveline hiccup, it&#39;s as if the key was turned from ON to OFF then ON &lt;br&gt; again., resuming normal power.   I had this problem with my &#39;92 Cherokee right after I bought it (down &lt;br&gt; south). I ended up going to the junk yard and getting a distributer. I &lt;br&gt; haven&#39;t had a problem in 2 years. (except when it&#39;s freezing out and &lt;br&gt; the starter or something freezes up, only happened twice, live up north &lt;br&gt; now).   I want to convert my &#39;92 Cherokee 4.0 2wd 5 speed to a 4wd auto. I &lt;br&gt; already have the donor vehicle, an 89-91 Pioneer 4x4 with a 4.0, not &lt;br&gt; sure of year (which runs but needs underbody work). How hard would this &lt;br&gt; be? Is it possible as far as the electronics go? &lt;br&gt; Thanks
